Dr Charlie Dannreuther has provided specialist training to key policy stakeholders in Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary and Macedonia, and to representatives from the UN and British Embassies. He is also managing two programmes for the Foreign Office disseminating the EU’s Lisbon Agenda in Turkey and Bosnia.
Dr Ricardo Blaug's application of democratic theory to public policy has generated research on emerging conceptions of 'public value'. This was used to underpin the regulatory framework for the BBC under its new charter and is directly referred to in the corresponding 2006 White Paper.
Dr Maureen Ramsay gave a keynote address on the ethics of torture to members of the Dutch military and Ministry of Defense. Her research on the ethics of torture has been used in the education programme of the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel.
Professor Gordon Crawford acts as an advisor to the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs within the area of democracy promotion.
