Taught Postgraduates

Global Development

With our MA Global Development, you have the opportunity to specialise the course through one of five optional pathways.

We also have a distinctive research strength in EU and Development Studies. Students can follow this path by taking modules from Global Development and Politics.

International Relations and Security

We offer three programmes in International Relations and Security.

Politics

Our school offers single discipline MA Politics, and the opportunity to focus your study with one of two optional pathways.

Partner MA programmes

The School of Politics and International Studies also contributes learning and expertise to interdisciplinary MA programmes run by other schools in the university.

Why study for an MA?

Students choose to take our MA programmes for a variety of reasons. Some wish to gain a qualification to pursue a relevant career; others want to pursue academic understanding of an area where they may have extensive work history or experience as a volunteer.

We have also found that some students wish to build on their first degree by specialising in an area they find fascinating, and that others want to obtain a qualification that consolidates their personal interest in a subject.

Whatever your reason for pursuing postgraduate study with us, you will benefit from an extensive range of facilities, including an internationally acclaimed university library comprising over 2.7 million items, first-rate computing resources and one of the most active students' unions in the country.
