Planetary Ideologies

Photo of Stefan Pedersen

This is a research project in Global Political Theory. Using the contemporary ideological discourses of Neoliberalism/Globalism, Cosmopolitanism, and Alternative Globalization/Alter-Globalism as case studies, I aim to theoretically explore if these discourses could be justifiably viewed as an emerging foundation for a post-national planetary ideological spectrum (i.e. an ideological spectrum of use to a future democratic planetary polity no longer based on the Westphalian nation-state system).

I obtained my B.A.  in Political Science and M.Sc. in Political Science, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

I worked for a year for The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration before coming to Leeds.  I was a teaching assistant for ‘Political Theory and Comparative Politics’ at NTNU and I’ve also had several prior jobs whilst studying.
