Why did you choose to study at POLIS and at Leeds?
I wanted to specialise further in European politics and continue my studies through a Masters program in the field. I was particularly interested in the placement which the course offered in Brussels working for an MEP.
How did the course match your expectations?
The placement gave me a fantastic opportunity to gain an excellent understanding of the European Parliament as well as an insight into how the institutions act.
What did you most enjoy about your course?
I most enjoyed the opportunity to work in the European Parliament and the chance to be able to apply the theoretical knowledge which I developed.
What would you say about the facilities in the School and at the University in general?
There are good facilities in the POLIS department. The libraries at the university have a very comprehensive and diverse collection to support your studies.
What would you say to anyone thinking of applying to your course?
It gives you an excellent opportunity to gain the practical experience of working inside one of the European institutions. I would highly recommend this programme for anyone wanting to pursue a political career in Brussels.
How has your course helped your career?
The placement enabled me to develop skills vital for working in a political office. Due to this placement I was able to secure a permanent post within the Parliament.
