What made you want to apply to your course and to POLIS?
The Leeds Politics course really appealed to me because there was a wide range of modules to choose from...the huge variety of courses range from the politics of China and South Pacific Asia to the ideas and thoughts of well-known scholars.

What have you enjoyed most about the course?
I really enjoyed the interaction with other students during seminars and the often heated debates. With a diverse range of students a wide range of opinions were always expressed.

What would you say about the facilities in the School and at the University in general?
Throughout my three years at Leeds I noticed huge changes in the University…within three years it had developed and modernised amazingly.

What would you say to anyone thinking of applying to your course?
I would definitely recommend studying Politics at Leeds…not only is there huge variety in the modules you can choose but the POLIS staff are amazing…they were always there to help and very approachable.

Tell us about your favourite lecturer
I had two favourite lecturers Jennifer Sands and Dr Jason Ralph. Jennifer Sands taught Organised Crime in Europe-she made this module one of the most exciting modules I had studied in my three years at Leeds…she was always happy to give extra help along with making the course really fun and interesting. Dr Jason Ralph is another excellent lecturer he always interacted with the students during lectures which helped keep us interested in the topics.

Is there any advice you would like to share with future POLIS students?
To embrace your time at Leeds because you are only there for three years and it will fly by…remember to work hard and more importantly party hard!
