Dr Neil Winn

Senior Lecturer in European Studies

My work lies at the intersection of international relations and European politics. I am interested in European international relations in particular, and emphasise an interdisciplinary approach in my work.

Research Interests

My research in the past has particularly focused on the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and the international relations of Europe in general.

My teaching interests again lie at the intersection of international relations and European politics. I teach undergraduate modules in 'Foreign Policy Analysis' and 'Europe and the World'. I also contribute to 'Debating Europe' at the undergraduate level. At the postgraduate level I teach modules in 'The Making of Modern Europe' and 'European Defence and Security Analysis'.

PhD Supervision

I am keen to supervise promising research students in a range of areas including common foreign and security policy, transatlantic relations, intelligence and foreign policy, foreign policy analysis, civil wars and management of ethnic conflict.
