Research Student: Dr Henry Mbawa
Local Governance and Ethnicity in Sierra Leone.
I hold a PhD from the University of Leeds. Before coming to Leeds to do a PhD, I was Governance Consultant with the Public Sector Reform Unit, in the Office of the President in Sierra Leone. I have also worked within the NGO sector with Campaign for Good Governance in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
My interest is generally in politics and power in Africa, but specifically in the areas of the State, Local Governance and Ethnic Politics. This interest was developed during my MA studies at the University of Antwerp where I graduated with MA Governance and Development and was awarded the prestigious Province of Antwerp Prize for Research in 2007.
