Human Rights Education and Social Change, the case of Senegal
The purpose of this research is to explore how participatory human rights education (HRE) in rural West African communities results in beneficial individual and community changes. The research focuses on the effect of values-based education on the understanding and realisation of human rights, and how human rights can influence social change. The research thus provides insight into how educational strategies and curricular offerings are connected to the abandonment of harmful practices and other issues related to human rights.
