Funding secured for PhD Studentship project 'The Politics of Science, Technology and Innovation in Africa: The Square Kilometre Array (SKA)'

The School of Politics and International Studies' Dr Alexander Beresford and Professor Melvin Hoare (School of Physics and Astronomy) have secured funding as part of the wider Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) initiatives being led by the University of Leeds, for their proposed PhD Studentship project 'The Politics of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in Africa: The Square Kilometre Array (SKA)'.

This PhD project will explore the relationship between Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) investment and development in Africa.

The project will contribute to scrutinising existing initiatives as well as potentially identifying areas for successful policy interventions and innovations in the future.

The studentship is open to UK/EU and international fee-paying students and is currently open for applications with a deadline of 1 June 2018.
