Digital Democracy Commission: Event on Monday 8 February

04 February 2016 | Georgia Wood

Professor Cristina Leston-Bandeira was one of eight Commissioners of the Digital Democracy Commission (DDC) which was chaired by the Speaker of the House of Commons. It’s been just over a year since the Digital Democracy Commission published its report . The Commission recommended how Parliament could use digital technology to help it to be more transparent, inclusive, and better able to engage the public with democracy. It said that it would meet one year on to review the progress that had been made towards the 5 key targets set out in the report.

On Monday 8th February, there will be an event which is an opportunity for those who served on the Commission, to hear from House of Commons staff about work related to digital engagement and how it relates to the targets in the report. The meeting will be chaired by Mr Speaker who established the Commission in November 2013.

Please note that there are a limited number of places which will be allocated on a strictly first-come first-seated basis. The event will be live-streamed on our web page and will be available to watch afterwards.

You can follow the action on Twitter using the hashtag #digitaldemocracy.
