A ‘fascinating puzzle’: Britain’s approach to leaving the EU

Dr Charlie Dannreuther speaks to the Yorkshire Post following Britain’s vote to leave the EU. Charlie advises that our political leaders now need to carefully consider how to engage with people following the public’s vote to leave the European Union last week.

Dr Dannreuther also highlights that the result of the referendum isn’t so surprising, with recent research identifying the “phenomenon of the ‘left behinders”, those who didn’t feel they were equipped with the necessary skills to exploit the global economy, meaning the “things we’ve been focusing on as a country for 20 years weren’t accessible to these people.”
