International Relations student Rhian Williams has been awarded second prize by the PSA Women and Politics Specialist Group for her essay.

International Relations student Rhian Williams has been awarded second prize by the PSA Women and Politics Specialist Group for her essay.

Rhian's essay, entitled "To what extent is Butler’s account of gender performativity helpful for understanding contemporary feminist politics?" was submitted by module leader Dr. Jonathan Dean.

She was awarded second prize by the Political Studies Association Women and Politics Specialist group, in their Undergraduate Essay Competiton 2014.

One of the judging pancel commented: "this essay addressed the question with both nuance and precision. It demonstrated outstanding critical writing skills of publication standard. It is beautifully and confidently argued and was a pleasure to read.” The level of entries were incredibly high this year, which further demonstrates Rhian's outstanding academic ability.

Her essay is to be posted on the PSA website at a later date.
