BISA-HEA Award for Excellence in Teaching International Studies, 2012/13
POLIS is pleased to announce that Dr Nick Robinson has been jointly awarded the BISA-HEA Award for Excellence in Teaching International Studies, 2012/13.
The aim of the award is to recognise individual staff or teams of staff who have contributed to the positive learning experience of students in International Studies, to raise the profile of learning and teaching activity in International Studies in the higher education sector, and to contribute to the dissemination of best practice in teaching and learning among BISA members.
In making the award, the BISA Teaching and Learning Committee wrote: Dr Robinson has made important and very significant contributions to the student experience. His innovation, scholarship and wide dissemination of his work make him a worthy winner of the award for teaching excellence. Through his development of audio feedback techniques, novel curricula in the area of videogame-based learning and a research-led teaching strategy, he has enhanced his students’ learning considerably, as demonstrated in their performance and feedback and the testimonials of external examiners and colleagues. Dr Robinson is to be especially commended for his leadership, both within his institution and beyond, in promoting and assisting colleagues with their own applications of audio feedback, and for his contributions to the development of pedagogical research in the discipline.
