The Centre for Global Development presents

Karen Inwood - Building a Grassroots Movement for Ecological and Social Revolution in El Salvador.

Karen Inwood is the Director of the Permaculture Institute of El Salvador (IPES) which was set up by a group of peasant farmers in 2002. Her presentation will focus on the past ten years' work to build a movement of thousands of farming families working to transform their lives and their society by using permaculture thinking - to build an alternative to the neoliberal model which is deepening the centuries-old exploitation of the natural and human resources.

Karen will also talk about how to get involved through volunteering, study opportunities, and employment in the sector.
