Human Dignity Study Day

5 June 2015, 10:30 - 17:45

Room 14.33, Social Sciences Building, University of Leeds

In this Section:

Colleagues are invited to an exploratory interdisciplinary study day on the concept of human dignity. There has been an explosion of philosophical interest in human dignity in recent years. The aim of this study day is to understand the ways in which the concept of human dignity is understood and deployed in diverse academic disciplines and practitioner contexts, with a view to establishing which (if any) questions about dignity have been settled and where further fruitful philosophical or theoretical contributions might be made.

The study day is free to attend but places are limited so please register your interest by emailing Kerri Woods with a brief explanation of your interest in the field, by Friday 22 May at the latest.

Modest bursaries are available to assist interested postgraduates/unwaged scholars. Please email k.woods@leeds.ac.uk to apply. Preference may be given to existing members of the Association for Social and Political Philosophy.

With thanks for generous funding from the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds and the Association for Social and Political Philosophy.
