This seminar is organised by Leeds University Centre for Africa Studies (LUCAS).

Dr Chris Vaughan teaches African history at the universities of Liverpool and Durham, and taught in the School of Politics and International Studies at Leeds in the first semester of this academic year.

He completed his PhD on the history of Darfur under British colonial rule. The research is particularly focussed on examining the character of the colonial state, and assessing the degree to which colonial rule had a transformative effect on African societies and politics.

All welcome. No need to book.
