How Labour Governments Fall: From Ramsay MacDonald to Gordon Brown

01 December 2011 | 1:00pm - 5:30pm | Workshop

EC Stoner Building 7.83

This workshop is organised by the Leaders, Parties and Institutions (LPI) Research Group, School of Politics and International Studies (POLIS).

The workshop aims to compare the ways in which each period of Labour governance (1924, 1931, 1951, 1970, 1979 and 2010) was brought to an end. It will assess whether there are any common factors to the decline of each Labour administration and their eventual electoral fall. This workshop acts as preparation for an edited volume of the workshop title to be published by Palgrave in 2012.
