Professor Anthony Bebbington, IDPM, University of Manchester
Tony Bebbington is a Geographer engaged in conversations with a range of disciplines and policy spheres concerned with international development. He has held posts at the University of Colorado Boulder, at the Centre for Latin American Studies at Cambridge, at the Overseas Development Institute, at the International Institute for Environment and Development, and at the World Bank's Social Development Department. He is also currently a member and Research Affiliate of the Centro Peruano de Estudios Sociales (CEPES) in Peru, and has collaborated with a wide range of Latin American and other institutions over the years. His talk addresses the structure and dynamics of social conflicts around the relationships between natural resource extractions, agriculture and development strategies in the Andean region.
