Researching your future - careers event for research staff

Are you thinking about your future career? Do you want to hear from former postdocs about how your skills can be used in a wide range of careers, including academia, industry, scientific publishing and patenting?
Do you want to learn how to make the most of all your skills in an interview situation? If so, we have the event for you!
Researching your Future is a joint event between the White Rose Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York and is open to all science discipline research staff (postdoctoral researchers).
You'll hear from former postdocs now employed in diverse professions and industries, selected specifically to highlight the challenges faced and strategies devised to proactively manage their career development. You can participate in professional interactive coaching to hone confident interview techniques and have opportunities to network and discuss career progression issues with speakers and employer representatives.
You should leave the event armed with information and insight into the options available to help you plan your future career.
Attendance is free to registered delegates and includes refreshment breaks and lunch.

The event will include Plenary speakers Professor Ottoline Leyser, FRS; Philippa Storer, UK GRAD programme; Facilitated sessions 'Your Perfect Job' visualisation; Interview scenario (VOX Coaching); Employer talks; three parallel sessions covering Life Sciences; Physical/Earth/Engineering Sciences and General.
