School of Politics and International Studies

Information for School and College Students

Still at School or College?

Your school or college can book the following activities that will give you a taste of what it is like to study at university. If you fancy taking part, get your tutor to contact our Widening Participation Co-ordinator.

Do you want to meet current students?

Are you considering the possibility of going to University? Would you like to meet students from the School of Politics and International Studies?

We have a team of students who can share their own experiences and cover general information about picking a course, university life, the courses they are on and what they involve. We can come to your school, or you and your tutor can come to our university campus and have a look around at the same time!

Do you want to sit in on a sample lecture?

Would you like to get a feel of what a lecture is really like? We have tutors that can come to your school or college and deliver a talk. It can be linked in with your current curriculum or you could choose a new area of interest such as European Studies, International Development, International Relations and Politics.

Would you like to come on an activity day?

We hold activity days where we invite you, your tutors and fellow students into our School. You can interact with academics and current students, and get involved in debating and role-playing, exploring the campus, or sampling a lecture.

Would you like to know more about our courses?

If you are interested in politics, development, international or european studies, but would like to know more about the subjects, we can arrange for academics and current students to come to your school or college for a chat.
