I am a lecturer, primarily in British Politics. I also teach on the second year module 'Approaches to Political Theory' and am the module leader of the third year course 'Political Corruption'. My interests are in British Politics as well as political corruption globally.

Before joining the staff at Leeds, I completed my PhD here on Richard Crossman and the post-war Labour Party. I have also taught at the University of Salford, being module co-ordinator for their Labour Party history module.

Research Interests

My key area of research is currently the post-war British Labour Party, up to and including Gordon Brown's new government. I have also recently started working on the British Conservative Party and the international policy of David Cameron. I am also particularly interested in British foreign affairs. I have also recently finished working on the 'Life After Parliament' pamphlet for the Former MPs Association at Westminster.

I intend to write my next book on British Foreign Policy during the twentieth century and am also planning a book on the Labour Party’s attitude to the EU. I also intend to write on Labour’s attitude towards and actions in Palestine and Israel.

Teaching

I am module leader for the third year module 'Political Corruption' and am also a seminar tutor for the second year module 'Approaches to Political Science'. Additionally, I am a tutor for the third year dissertation classes.
