Free workshops for PhD students at the Careers Centre

There will be three workshops taking place for PhD students at the Careers Centre during May and June. The first session will be on career planning and job search and the following sessions will cover CVs and applications. Please note that in order to attend a workshop you will need to book a place - please see details below.

  • Career planning and job search: Friday 29th May 2009 10am -12 noon
    Location: Careers Centre, room LG02

This workshop is for research students at any stage in their research degree and from any faculty. Come along to find out how you might start your career planning and job search process, identify what skills you have and how to talk about them to potential employers.

  • CVs and applications: Wednesday 3rd June 2009 2pm-4pm and repeated on Tuesday 9th June 2009 1pm-3pm
    Location: Careers Centre, room LG02

These workshops are for research students at any stage in their research degree and from any faculty who need to develop or update a CV, and for those who may need to complete employer application forms to secure employment beyond their PhD. The aim of the workshop is to consider what employers are looking for and how to target their information to meet the demands of specific vacancies.

In order to book a place for a workshop please visit the Careers Centre website.

>From the red menu on the left select 'Graduate Jobs & Events' and then 'Employer and Career Centre Events and Online Booking Service'. Next click on Employer & Careers Centre Events'. Scroll down the webpage until you find the session you are interested in and click on 'Sign up'. Fill in your details and select 'Make Booking'.
